Credera UK sets out its Carbon Reduction Plan

Following the results of our baseline emissions footprint, Credera UK is committed to reaching Net Zero emissions by 2040. Our aim is to reduce this timeline to 2030, in line with Omnicom’s Ad Net Zero aims. This would be 20 years ahead of the current 2050 target set out in the standard Carbon Reduction Plan requirements.

Our baseline footprint was calculated in 2021 for the year 2019/2020, and includes the emissions from our three UK offices in London, Manchester, and Leeds. Our next reporting cycle is due to start in the spring of 2022 for the 2020/2021 year. It will certainly yield interesting results due to our new hybrid working arrangements, rapidly increasing staff numbers, and a drive towards more sustainable office and home activities.

Over the past year, Credera has championed a number of different schemes to help reduce our carbon footprint. Examples have included the promotion of rewilding and conservation CSR days amongst staff, participation in carbon offsetting schemes, fundraising for Green charities, paperless working, and much more. Hybrid working has also proved extremely successful in helping us to reduce our carbon footprint and this is something that we will continue to promote as a firm in future. Equally, we recognise that there is a lot more that we can do.

Whilst we will be able to set more realistic targets following the next emissions calculation cycle, our overall aims and goals will not change. We hope to start the process of achieving accreditation via one of the certification schemes, while continuing to work closely with our parent company, Omnicom, and associated environmental working groups. This will help us to better assess how we can cut emissions and what we can do more of in the future. At the same time, we will undergo an independent audit of our carbon footprint and sustainability goals. Coupled with our continued work on the ground in the local community, charity partnerships, and investment in offsetting schemes, 2022 is looking to be our most sustainable year yet!
