We asked Business Transformation Consultant Kelly Jackson why she chose to join Credera to further her career.
What attracted you to Credera?
I wanted to join an IT consultancy that had a people-first culture, a focus on IT transformation, and an extensive client base across all sectors. At Credera, we have an organic culture where our values are naturally at the forefront of what we do and how we do it.
I continue to be amazed at the great people that we have working at Credera and how willing everyone is to collaborate, share best practice and go the extra mile to help each other out. Alongside our extensive social calendar, Credera always remembers the small touches that mean a lot to employees, such as a birthday card or a bottle of champagne to celebrate a key life event.
What’s an average day like for you?
There isn’t actually an average day at Credera! There is a huge amount of variety to each new day, from problem-solving for a client to collaborating with colleagues on some internal work. I love the number of opportunities there are to take on more client challenges and get involved in a different piece of internal work to better shape our business.
What’s your favourite thing about working for Credera?
My favourite thing about working for Credera is working within Business Transformation and helping clients to translate strategic intent into effective change. Before Credera, I consulted on business change and culture in the retail industry and what I love about my job is that there is so much opportunity to help clients understand that effective change isn’t just about the technology. It’s really rewarding to see how clients are able to prepare and embed change as part of an IT transformation programme and be set up for success in the digital age.
What’s your favourite benefit that we offer?
It’s hard to choose! If I had to choose one out of our extensive benefits package, it would be the annual learning budget. I have a real thirst for learning and love getting new credentials and learning experiences under my belt. Credera’s learning budget offers every person the opportunity to use it as they best see fit – for me, I have used it to excel my specialism in business change and keep at the forefront of ever changing technology.
How has Credera helped you grow in your professional career?
There is a great support network at Credera to grow, progress, and excel your career. I have a fantastic appraiser who continuously helps to coach, challenge, and guide me along my career path. My appraiser also helps me set relevant and achievable objectives to continue to stretch my thinking and performance. Alongside the support network, being involved in different and complex IT problems for various clients across all sectors has enabled me to grow in my career.
How does Credera motivate you to give your best?
Everyone at Credera has a natural blend of high intellect and integrity and it is great to work alongside Senior Consultants, Principals and Directors on a client project. Being around such capable people motivates me to do my best for the client and Credera.
What advice would you give recent hires?
Working for a digital company and ‘being digital’ means different things to different people. For me, it’s about organisations being at the forefront of a fast-paced world and having their people and organisation ready to respond and adapt to technology. For you, it may mean something entirely different. Credera offers the environment for you to be a constant learner and progress your passion, but it’s down to you to put in the hard work. Define your path and you will definitely reap the rewards for it!
