Meet our intern: Wen Xin Kang

In July 2022, we welcomed our next cohort of interns to Credera's UK offices. We caught up with intern Wen Xin Kangto learn about her experience of working with us.

Tell us a little bit about your background. What were you doing before starting your internship with Credera?

I am currently studying Medical Biosciences at Imperial College London. Before joining Credera, I’d been involved in consulting projects in the healthcare sector and am an active member of Imperial’s Consulting Society where I source for projects and manage the Marketing functions of the society. I am interested in pursuing a career in consulting, technology, or marketing.

What made you decide to apply for an internship with Credera?

As I was looking for an opportunity to work in the consulting industry during the summer, I chanced upon an internship with Credera. Credera is a tech consultancy working across various industries globally. I was drawn to the range of client projects that Credera had worked on and wanted to gain work experience in a corporate environment.

What most excites you about your internship with us?

I was captivated by the idea of joining a tech consultancy and being involved in something I have never done before. I looked forward to gaining more exposure to the tech consulting industry whilst connecting with various consultants and engineers working on challenging client projects to deliver the best solutions. I’m pleased to share that after my six weeks, I have a deeper understanding of the business operations of Credera and what a career in consulting looks like.

What do you think was your most significant accomplishment whilst working at Credera?

I had the opportunity to work with the Sales team to develop a market strategy for Credera in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry. This involved a lot of market research and analysis of the life science sector, as well as aligning it with Credera’s tech capabilities. I delivered my findings through a presentation to the senior management of the Sales team and received positive feedback. I am happy to share that my findings have added value to the Sales function, and that they can take it forward to develop a sales proposition.

What are your goals for the future?

I hope to enter the consulting industry and be exposed to a variety of projects where I can learn more about delivering solutions to businesses. I am also looking into building my technical skills so that I can be more knowledgeable within the tech industry as a consultant. Additionally, I aim to transfer my communication, research, and technical skills to my future endeavours.

In your own words, how would you describe Credera’s culture?

Credera has a really open environment that offers a number of networking opportunities to get to know consultants and engineers across the firm. Throughout my intern experience, I have met people working across various functions and everyone has been more than welcoming. Credera also provides a safe space for learning and building relationships, and I have had the opportunity to have one-to-one coffee chats through roundtables with the Board.

How would you describe your overall experience of interning with Credera?

My journey with Credera has been extremely valuable. A plethora of workshops were lined up to help us gain exposure to the various pillars and functions of the organisation. This allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of Credera and build upon my pre-existing skills. By asking for feedback after every project I completed, I am proud to say that after this internship, I am a more well-rounded person who has significantly grown from this experience.
